Turning Pointe was founded in 1996. Originally called The Dance Centre it changed its name in 2005 to Turning Pointe to reflect the fact that it has many, many studios throughout the UAE not just one centre. It is also a turning point in a child's life when they start school which is often the same year they start their dance classes. As a dance school, Turning Pointe offers a wide choice of classes to suit all kinds of students. The most popular genre is Classical Ballet, following The Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) Syllabus and gearing the students towards their RAD ballet examinations. These classes are offered to 3 years and above. Over the years the number and ability of the ballet students increased enormously and in 2010 Turning Pointe Youth Ballet (TPYB) was established. The Youth Ballet performances have been so successful they have won awards and have moved to the prestigious stage of Dubai Opera. TPYB is open to all our students from Grade 1 Ballet and above. Hip Hop, Contemporary, Modern, Street Jazz and Tap are the other genres of dance Turning Pointe offers. These classes start at 3 years old with our little Baby Boppers right up to 18 years. Read more
